Rust JCBs
There is an old airfield near where I used to live. On the runway is one of the most amazing collections of junked JCBs, Caterpillars, dumpers and crains. The detail in the metal work is superb, mostly painted yellow with rust showing through it is heaven for those who like to shoot abstract close ups. Here are a few of my favourite photos, taken on a bright day in summer last year. The sunlight has presented vibrant colours with deep contrast and solid shadows, while the rust tones harmonise with the paintwork. A tip here is to move in close and frame tightly, rather than including the whole chassis, creating abstracts rather than recognisable shapes.
