Was ok, nothing to write a postcard home about. That said the sun was out and I just relaxed by the harbour &#8211; after I&#8217;d sampled a couple of local pies, including local delicacy\u00a0rustico.<\/p>\n<div class=\"img_attch\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"674\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2911\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Otranto.jpg\" alt=\"Otranto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Otranto.jpg 1000w, https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Otranto-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/Otranto-768x518.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/div>\n<p>I decided to walk back from here to Zolino station. I took the SP48 to Martano&#8230;a long, straight road lined with olive fields. When I eventually arrived in Martano I couldn&#8217;t see the directions out to Zolino. So I asked a local restaurateur. He insisted on taking me and I&#8217;m glad he did &#8211; it was further than I thought. I asked if I could pay him&#8230;and he said in Italian &#8220;from the heart&#8221;. Nice man.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Train to the\u00a0seaside town Otranto.
