I had a few hundred to do so didn\u2019t want to do each one individually and I also didn\u2019t want to use an online converter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ad2f72ca wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>For those who don\u2019t know (I didn\u2019t) you can set up a simple converter using one of the many standard issue Macs Apps &#8211; Automator.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"137\" height=\"153\" src=\"https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-app.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3832\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Automator has a list of actions already built. The Render PDF Pages to Images action is one of them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here\u2019s how to write a PDF to JPG conversion program&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"775\" src=\"https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-program-1024x775.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3833\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-program-1024x775.png 1024w, https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-program-300x227.png 300w, https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-program-768x581.png 768w, https:\/\/bargh.co.uk\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/02\/automator-program.png 1272w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>1 Open Automator\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>2 Select File>New a wizard pops asking you to choose a \u201ctype of document\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>3 Select Application and click Choose<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>4 Scroll down the long list of options on the left and find \u201cRender PDF Pages to Images\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>5 Drag this action into the space on the right\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>6 Select JPEG (notice all the other file formats that you can convert to) and a compression (quality) level\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>7 Drag \u201cCopy Finder Items\u201d over to the workflow and select where you want the files saved<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>8 Save the action on your desktop File>Save<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Now you will have an automator icon, simply select a number of PDF file thumbnails and drag them over the icon to convert and save in your chosen directory.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I was looking for a simple way to convert a bunch of pdf files into jpg files the Mac.
