Kavos Torabi & Bug at Sydney and Matilda

My friends’ band, BUG, played Sydney and Matilda in Sheffield supporting the Gong frontman Kavos Torabi who was midway through his solo tour.

They came on at 7:30pm on the downstairs stage performing to a small audience of 30 or so. The weather was miserable so there were no on the door tickets sold and The total tickets sales were around 40.

This was the first gig that Kate sang on

Paul had a cold but managed to keep lead vocals

Miggsy as usual couldn’t be heard vocally but the bass playing was to usual high standard.

Kavos joined the audience fir the first three tracks

Two women chatted annoyingly through the whole set !

Kavos played some very early material and a few from his latest album. His opener was mesmerising – featuring a harpsichord drone loop and beautiful haunting treated vocals .

Afterwards both artists met guests at the merch table .

AA Williams at the Bodega

With Jas, Gerald and Anne to see AA Williams at the Bodega in Nottingham. Support was from a very loud Spotlight

It was the first tour for a couple of years for AA Williams and she was on top form . We were front of stage and central so clear view . The venue was quite packed. We had an unexpected interruption as some woman argued with staff loudly. AA stopped playing and tried to get security to act on the incident. It took 3 or 4 minutes before play commenced. Great gig shame people don’t respect artists!

Hamish Hawk at Gorilla Club

I went with Douglas and Fiona to see Hamish Hawk perform at the Gorilla Club in Manchester. I wasnt expecting too much but his charisma and the audiences enthusiasm made for an excellent night of music. His support was Lizzie Reid.

A musical Interlude

Thanks to Robert Baker I have become interested in the world of modular synths and have bought a few pieces of kit including a Moog Semi-modular cluster. This is my first piece recorded as an iPhone video.
