Derwent was a village in Derbyshire that was demolished (or technically drowned) in 1944 to make way for the Ladybower reservoir.
The extremely dry summer/autumn has allowed the left over structures to emerge and visitors went there in their hoards to walk among the ruins. It was a sight most of us have never seen…and may never see again. I went on a wet and grey morning which turned in to a nice sunlit afternoon with crisp autumn colours…and even a rainbow finished off my stroll around the reservoir.
