Kavos Torabi & Bug at Sydney and Matilda

My friends’ band, BUG, played Sydney and Matilda in Sheffield supporting the Gong frontman Kavos Torabi who was midway through his solo tour.

They came on at 7:30pm on the downstairs stage performing to a small audience of 30 or so. The weather was miserable so there were no on the door tickets sold and The total tickets sales were around 40.

This was the first gig that Kate sang on

Paul had a cold but managed to keep lead vocals

Miggsy as usual couldn’t be heard vocally but the bass playing was to usual high standard.

Kavos joined the audience fir the first three tracks

Two women chatted annoyingly through the whole set !

Kavos played some very early material and a few from his latest album. His opener was mesmerising – featuring a harpsichord drone loop and beautiful haunting treated vocals .

Afterwards both artists met guests at the merch table .

Lightroom 4.1 wont install

If  you have a version of Lightroom and the alert comes to tell you that a new version is available, so you down load and then when trying to run the .exe file you get the error message you may find it a struggle to find the solution.

I had this issue and the Adobe solution is to download a fresh instal.

I was running a 4.1 Beta upgrade from the original 4.0 install. I tried a second download and it didn’t work. I couldn’t find the answer online so I decided to uninstall my 4.1 Beta install and delete my 4.1 download .exe.

I then reinstalled my 4.0 off the disc, re downloaded the 4.1 update and click the .exe and this time it worked.

Hope this helps a few who’re in the same situation

wtf!

I’ve always been the one in the house that’s had to deal with spiders, bees and other bugs. More recently with the introduction of a cat I’m now also in control of frog, bird, mouse, vole and, would you believe it, worm removal. None of it bothered me, until last night when this thing appeared.

what is this!

I’ve no idea what it is (any clues?) but it was much bigger than a bumble bee and with no reference as to whether it would sting or bite gave me quite a shock as it took off and flew like a Hercules in an uncontrollable fashion. There was a huge sense of relief when I managed to get it out through the window (I’m not a squasher, I like to let them go)

For all those overseas readers you can tell from the shock that us Brits are a bit rubbish when it comes to bugs!
