I went to a car boot sale this morning looking for old items for steam punk props. When I’d finished i took a few sneaky hipstamatic Up close candids. Four or five of my candids where actually looking right into the lens of the camera. I think they knew what I was doing, even though I though I was being discreet.

I popped over to Marsh Lane carboot sale this morning and took the iphone to record some of the visitors.
I parked myself near the exit and took candids as the punters walked past or left. I held the camera phone at waist height and pressed the shutter as people walked into view.
It’s a bit awkward with the hipstamatic app because the shutter is on the screen and not easy to press from a weird angle while you’re looking like your not taking pictures.
It was a bit hit and miss, especially the composition, but I ended up with a good selection of shots.
This is not my favourite but is one of the better ones to illustrate carboot sales. The bloke was looking back at a meat seller who was mid flow in his sales patter.
