We’d hired a car to go in to the mountains and took the road up to Roque Nublo. We stopped at various scenic points along the way and the light was at times amazing. On the walking ascent to Roque Nublo I spotted these trees backlit in the valley below. They stood out from the drab volcanic surrounds. I used the Olympus Pen EP2 with 40-150mm at the 150mm setting to get a tight crop and the most compressed perspective.

Photo365 – Day 117 – Clumber Park
I went for a cycle round Clumber Park today and passed this rich coloured scene. I positioned the tracks mid photo to give a graphical composition.
Taken with the Olympus EP2 and 17mm lens. I added the darker gradient to the sky in Lightroom.
It’s part of my photo365 project. I’ve been taking a photo a day since January 1st.
Photo365 – Day 37 – bleak day
What a day…miserable most of the day at home weather wise but I saw a break and thought it would be worth going out to Derbyshire with the Lee Filters Big Stopper to get some cloud movement shots against rocks.
How wrong I was.
It was cold and extremely windy. On the edges so windy I nearly got swept off my feet. Not good for one minute Big Stopper shots. So I stuck to normal exposures, even then the drizzle played havoc on the filters so getting a decent shot was virtually impossible.
Here’s one with the tripod low down and the Lee 0.6 Grad filter. I added the blue sky shade using Lightroom.
Photo365 – Day 16 – Padley Gorge
The weather was rubbish today – raining and grey, but I needed to get out of the house so took a stroll around Padley Gorge. Kids enjoyed scrambling around. I took a few photos.
This one was from the path looking up into the woodland. Shot with wide angle to get the towering trees leaning in. Your eye sees so much more in places like this.
