Flash test

The Flash Centre delivered the latest D-Lite kit to the office in the middle of the week, so we organised a shoot with model, Rachel, for today. It took a few hours to rattle through a series of test pics to get used to the flash system…and mighty fine it is too. It’s the D-Lite 4, a 400Ws kit comprising two heads, stands, softboxes and cases to stash it all in. I’ll be writing the review over the weekend and then will post it on ePHOTOzine. Running my own business never seems to give me breaks…but at least I’m doing what I really enjoy 🙂

Search engine optimisation

Seem to be getting to grips with this.
The site is now on page one for Google.uk and Google.com if someone searches for Bargh

When I set up this blog I thought I’d be disciplined enough to write an entry each day…how wrong I was! I never seem to have time!
And the forums…I’m not sure how to get them going…hopefully they’ll start to become populated. I recall ePHOTOzine being very quiet in the early days too.

I’m stuck with a few database problems now and will take a few weeks of spare moments to crack. I’m trying to get the discography section from html to MYSQL using PHP. Can’t seem to master the design bit here. It looks fine as html but it would be great to call the info from a database.

So near, yet so far…

This bl**dy site is taking longer than I thought. I was warned! Tonight I’ve been working on the index page trying to get the image align correctly. Took far too long! I keep jumping the many hurdles though. I now have a decent understanding of CSS.

My next plan is to create lots of Adsense links in relevant places and add Google Analytics to various pages.

Just about finished

Having spent most of the Christmas holiday working on bargh.co.uk and it’s nearly done. I’ve just got the gallery to finish. I’ve had a fair few challenges on the way but it’s been fun jumping those hurdles.

How many???

Just created the discography page for Tangerine Dream. Can’t believe how many albums they have. I had everything up until about 1997..but with all the live stuff and soundtracks since they notch around 60 albums!

Happy New Year

Last FM

Almost 3:00am and I’m ploughing through the unfinished sections of the site. Just finished Susumu’s discog while listening to Last FM’s electronic selection. I’ve also set up Google Analytics.

Wired up some more of my sound system yesterday too so I will soon be dabbling with electronic music. Waiting for delivery of an eBay purchase Alesis S4plus module.

Knackered so off to bed I go!

Shopping

Boxing day was spent shopping in Meadowhall. It was crazily busy. I bought Da Vinci code on PS2 but i have not had chance to play it yet.
Worked out how to add Google Adsense to bargh.co.uk tonight…although it’s now tomorrow…time flies when you’re having fun!

Some musical interlude

I’ve been so busy at work preparing for the Christmas break that I haven’t had time to keep up my daily dose of blog.

An old interest has return big time! Electronic music. I was walking past my local Cash Converter type shop and spotted a Korg ER-1 gadget – £20, no power adaptor. Couldn’t turn that one down. I bought an adaptor, plugged in the gadget and found it delivers some amazing sounds. Now I’m back in must get a CD created mode. Over the next week I intend to produce some music in the same style as Plaid, FSOL etc. Who knows I may even end up with a bit of space on My Space (I’ve currently resisted the temptation!)
